How Edifix handles references that include URLs depends on other factors in the reference.

If the reference is a recognizable journal or book reference with a URL added at the end, then in most cases, Edifix will parse the reference and then format the reference with the URL according to your chosen style.

If the reference is to a website, however, then Edifix will not parse the reference. This is because websites are cited in a wide variety of ways, and we have found it’s better to leave these references as-is than to risk introducing an error.

In all references, Edifix will turn URLs into live hyperlinks, so that you can more easily click each one and follow the link to check that it is correct and that the site is live.
